Kia ora and Welcome to the Tirimoana School Community

Enrolling at Tirimoana School.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family to Tirimoana School.

  • Children may only attend school on or after their fifth birthday.
  • Application for enrolment, for children in Year 1-6, may be made at any age.

We encourage and welcome you to visit the school to meet the Principal or a member of the Senior Leadership Team

A school prospectus can be obtained from the school office either in person or by phoning (09) 838 9737.

You are welcome to drop into the office during school hours. Our Year 6 school councillors would love to take you on a tour of our school.

Parents are requested to enrol children as soon as possible after their child’s fourth birthday.

It is very helpful for the school to have pre-enrolments completed for New Entrant children so that the school may prepare for the needs of our future school community.

Out of Zone Application

From time to time we have places available for out of zone enrolments. The School Board invites applications from parents who wish to enrol their children at Tirimoana School.

Out of Zone Application Form

The School Board determines the number of out of zone places to be offered. This decision is governed by the size of the in-zone intake for any year.

Priority is given to:

  1. Brothers and sisters of current students at the school
  2. Siblings of past pupils of the school
  3. Any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school
  4. Children of staff or board members
  5. All other applicants

Places are allocated by priority and then by general ballot.

Out of Zone applications for the 2025 school year close on Tuesday 15 October 2024.
Ballot date (if required) Wednesday 23 October 2024.

School visits

Approximately 6 weeks before your child starts school you will receive an email advising you of some possible school visit dates. We like our children to have at least 3 visits before they start school.  An adult or family member is asked to stay on the school site for the duration of these visits. During these visits you can purchase your child’s school uniform and stationery requirements.
