Science Fair
At Tirimoana School we are proud to present a Science Exhibition every two years. This year more than 600 children have contributed an exhibit to our Science Fair.
On Tuesday 27th September our Science Fair was officially opened in the school hall by Chris Chitty, a scientist and professor from Massey University. You may know him from the 'Let's Get Inventing' TV show for children. Mrs Graham arranged for Mr Chitty to come and speak to our school community at the opening in the evening.
A very large number of parents, childfen and friends attended the open evening or visited the fair during the days.
Thank you to Kelston Boys High School for lending us their Van de Graaf Generator to show everyone. See here for an explanation.
It was a 'hair-raising' experience for all who tried it.
Thank you too to David Graham (Mrs Graham's son) for bringing along his robot that he had designed and constructed. The children were fascinated by this wonderful piece of working technology.
Highlights of the exhibition this year are 'hatching chickens' from Year 1, individual exhibits about exciting science from middle and senior school students as well as joint science exhibits from out junior school classes. The variety of scientific concepts covered is awe-inspiring.
