Helicopter Landing at Tirimoana
On Friday 16th September an Airforce Helicopter landed on our school field.
This landing was originally planned for a day in February but the Christchurch Earthquake happened and the helicopters were all required to be on duty down in the South Island to help with the disaster.
Mr Miller, a Year 6 teacher, has a brother who is a Captain with the Airforce. He organised the flight plan and was allowed to land on our field as a special educational experience for our children.
Our Year 6 children are studying disasters and the role of Civil Defence. This was a wonderful event for our whole school.
